WELCOME TO SPOTTED DOG RANCH, WHERE ROLLING STONES KEEP ROLLING. THANKS FOR VISITING!

With the smoke and the fire and the stars at night

Up again in the morning bright

With nothing but road and sky in sight

And nothing to do but go...

Walking in a Doggie Wonderland

Cassie and Moki at the Roaring Fork River's Blue Medal flyfishing waters, but no fish in sight—they're all at the bottom, dreaming of spring's caddis fly hatch.
Sometimes I think it can get pretty boring in snow country for dogs—they can't snowboard, ski, or snowshoe—so what do you do? Well, they're simple souls who enjoy life as it is, and as long as they can play in the snow, they're pretty happy.

We'll be heading back to northern Utah tomorrow, but for now, it's play play play on the banks of the Roaring Fork River in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow. - Jeff Valdez

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. - Mark Twain

The dog is the god of frolic. - Henry Ward Beecher

I hope if dogs take over the world, and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas. - Jack Handy

As the sun sets, everything's bathed in a purple light. Time to go home and eat bone-shaped holiday biscuits with hot buttered chicken broth.
